2 Corinthians 11:28

Partners in the Gospel,

Well, aside from a couple of kidney stones, a ridiculous ear infection, one trip to the hospital, and endless problems with the boat motor, Chris and I had another wonderful trip full of memorable times of worship with the church.

We began research on a new river, but were unable to reach the first indigenous village located on that river. We did travel non-stop for about 6 days, going up and down the river, and we were blessed to meet a few families that hitched rides with us as well as learn much needed information. We know now where the first two native communities are, the people group that lives there, and in one village, we know who the chief is, for his uncle is one of the believers in the church in Shintuya; a very close friend of ours. Praise Christ that we have such a fantastic contact and that the Spirit kept us from entering the village until we realized the connection that is there.

In Boca Inimbari, we (joined by our two new team members, Jody and Julio, for a week and a half) met with the church daily for about 3 weeks. At first, a few of the Brothers were deeper in the jungle working--gathering castaņas (like a Brazil Nuts) and mining gold--but the last week and a half in the village found us worshiping with and discipling the entire church every night. There were amazing times of confession, a celebration of the Lord's Supper, joyous nights of singing praises, and fruitful gatherings in which the Body received a deeper and richer insight into the Word.

Real quick, I want to share a prayer request for this church. My heart has been greatly burdened for more than a month now in regards to the younger generation of this village. And by younger, I'm talking about the 30-55 age range. That should make some of you feel good. Anyway, the majority of the church is quite older. If they do not reach the rest of their community, then after the older generation passes, the entire village will once again be lost. Please pray that these Believers will obey and be faithful to share the story of Jesus and His salvation with the lost they live with. Through the stories they've learned, the church has a great and clear understanding of their responsibility in this matter. They desperately need your specific prayers though.

Thank you for your consistancy in lifting up prayers for our friends, the Amarakaeri.

Jonathan
